In collaboration with Hex House, a creative co-working space that hosts events, we were able to set up our own bioart exhibit called “Living Room.”
“Moving day is around the corner and we welcome you to our living rooms. "Living Room" is a group show presented by the Genspace Biomaterials Studio, a research collective of artists, designers, and scientists exploring the intersection of living materials and design. With a focus on furniture, members of the group collaborated with varying living materials to fabricate original pieces. These pieces are designed to be composted or easily broken down for a circular economy - a crucial part of moving towards a healthier society and planet. This community project group has taken a playful approach to the emerging field of biodesign and reimagined the future of living spaces.”
This exhibit was hosted at Hex House Art Studios (@workinprogressnyc) on the night of August 23rd. Drinks & snacks were provided thanks to our sponsors, MOSS & Tru & Kura!
